Artist statement
My work explores reflections, everyday wonder and the effect of water through photography and installations. I make sense of my place in this world by infusing my art with a playful curiosity, and magnifying overlooked everyday beauty. My work captures fleeting moments of enchantment, inviting viewers to rediscover the extraordinary within the ordinary. In a hurried world, my art aims to prompt pause, encouraging appreciation for the magic that surrounds us.
Ambitions
In five years I hope to have acquired a sense of who I am as an artist in relation to my role as an educator, my role as an adult in a turbulent society and my role as an enchanted kid in an endlessly fascinating world.
Learned during the studies
I have learned that a good piece of art isn't always enough just as it is. As an emerging artist, you need to know what words to attach to your creation and how to find the right people to speak them to. I also discovered that creating, viewing and hearing about art, is a fundamental need in my life and I feel a responsibility as an artist and educator to let others discover this as well.
