In this graduation project I intend to showcase an all encompassing view of what I think I am able to achieve with the violin through a varied repertoire covering from the 18th century till the 20th century, from highly virtuosic to lyric music can be found and expressed.

Artist statement

What fascinates me most about musicianship is how I can use an instrument that doesn't produce any sound on its own to create beautiful music that tells profound stories. This passion began when I was a child, listening to my favorite composers for hours. Their music transported me to another world, allowing me to experience a wide range of emotions without any words.
My goal has always been to play the music of my favorite composers, telling their stories and emotions to others. Whether performing in ensembles or, ideally, an orchestra, I strive to share these musical experiences. While I still have room to grow, I’ve made significant progress and can confidently perform for an audience.
What drives me is a relentless desire to share the immersive experience of music with others.

Ambitions

Although my future career path isn't yet defined, my aspiration has always been to participate
in an orchestra. At present, any opportunity related to violin playing or music suffices, allowing
me toprogress step by step. My immediate goal is to audition for JONDE (the young orchestra
of the Spanish state) and apply for a master’s degree next year.
As I've mentioned earlier and reiterate here, enhancing my technical abilities is paramount (1).
A solid technical foundation is essential for me to feel confident in expressing musical ideas. To
achieve this, I plan to incorporate a daily morning routine focusing on technique, schedule
regular lessons with a teacher, and commit to mastering a new scale every week.
Looking ahead, establishing fluency in all 12 scales appears to be a compelling long-term
objective. Additionally, setting aside time at the beginning of each year to evaluate progress,
identify areas for improvement, and establish future technical goals seems prudent. To accomplish these objectives, practical necessities include a tailored scale system, guidance from a teacher, and, albeit less tangible, steadfast faith, patience, and daily discipline.

Learned during the studies

The most important thing I’ve learned is a profound improvement and trust in my technical abilities. At first, I could have only dreamt about tackling ambitious and demanding repertoire; however, thanks to a refinement of my practice, dedication and a big amount of patience I have steadily formed a solid foundation. This progress is now more evident to me when I prepare highly difficult repertoire in a more efficient, organized and calm way. One clear example of this would be the time difference it took me to prepare a piece, usually 4 to 5 weeks, can be narrowed down to 1 to 2 weeks with a better end result.
Furthermore, I have gained self-knowledge, that has fine tuned my organizational skills through reflecting on past experiences and more accurately judging my capabilities. I can now better manage my workload efficiently, balancing high loads of work with important leisure time benefiting both my personal and professional development.
Additionally, my communication skills have improved and I no longer hesitate to ask for help or express opinions and needs to fellow peers and teachers. This broad-mindedness has been very beneficial to my growth as an individual and as a musician.
