What is your specialty, what makes your work unique? Or place your artist's statement.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve valued and cared about the well-being of the people around me. My source of happiness in life is found in that of others. Incorporating this ideology into my practice is therefore very important to me. I use technology as a means to improve the lives of others. But the more I discover what technology is capable of, the more I realize what harm it can cause as well. With this power comes great responsibility which currently lies in the hands of big tech companies. With my work, I want to advocate for the democratization and socialization of technology. Focusing on exploring, imagining, and prototyping social design concepts in the field of human-centered technology. I incorporate ethical and social issues into my practice to design products that speculate and question the societal implications of technology in today’s society and that of the future.

My work is focused on exploring, imagining, and prototyping future-forward creative concepts for human-centered technology.

What are your ambitions? What do you want to be in five years?

I want to work in the field of critical design and social design. Where I'll be using design as a means to critically address pressing issues concerning privacy and ethics in the digital age. While at the same time proposing alternative solutions to these issues.

What is the most important thing you have learned during your studies?

During my studies, I discovered the impact design can have on the world around us. It affects us on a personal, societal and ecological level. This let me realize how important it is to design responsibly and ethically. To achieve this you have to look at the bigger picture. Involve experts and professionals from different disciplines into your design process and never take your initial assumptions for granted. Therefore working in a multi-disciplinary team is of utmost importance.
