Zeitgeist’ is an essayistic slow film that explores feelings of melancholy through the relation between landscapes and human emotion. Drawing inspiration from the Psychogeography art movement, the taken journey, both physically and mentally, is closely related to a Derivé or wandering, floating from place to place and thought to thought. While passing through liminal spaces that challenge viewers to let go of their own self, they are invited to contemplate the nature of transience and loss, frustration and finding peace in nature, city, and abstracted inner worlds, accompanied by feelings of melancholy, catharsis, and peace.

Artist statement

As an artist who specializes in projection art and experimental film, I am deeply fascinated and influenced by themes such as nature and spirituality, in connection to the spaces I work and exhibit in. Through my films and preferably with the use of sensors, I seek to create a playful, transformative dialogue between the viewer, their own mental space, the physical space and the imagery that is now shown within it. Drawing from my background in animation and visual effects, I like to incorporate surrealist imagery to create dreamlike and otherworldly atmospheres that invite the viewer to place themselves in the narrative, and challenge their perceptions of reality. The goal is to use film as a medium to explore the intersection between the physical and the spiritual, inviting the viewer to contemplate their own relationship with the world around them.

Ambitions

In five years I hope to still be doing weird side projects, I like them the most. I hope I work on projects that have some importance, and give people a sense of wonder, that's where I feel projection art's power lies.
