Programmed society is a comment on the current zeitgeist, where humans are stuck in an endless repetition of living. I portray people as programmed individuals who buy items as a matter of routine, rather than out of necessity. I experimented with repetitions of familiar archetypal garments, such as the white T-shirt and the outdoor jacket. By literally connecting people to clothing racks, I leave them drowning in their own repetitions.

  1. Artist statement; wat is je specialisme, wat maakt jouw werk uniek?

    Addictive repetitions
Creating a critical distance through fashion by analyzing society’s daily habits and instilling the routines that we taught ourselves. Driven by experimental visual and textual research, I experiment with familiar objects/garments. By placing them in a different context and extricating certain parts I enlarge the impact of my vision.

  2. Wat zijn je ambities? Wat wil je over vijf jaar bereikt hebben?

I want to further pursue formal education to instill valuable and relevant knowledge in my learning and ability as a designer.

  3. Wat is het belangrijkste dat je hebt geleerd tijdens je studie?

I learned to experiment intuitively and to take risks. By thinking big and above all not making concessions.
